News Release — DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority For Immediate Release: May 23, 2022 Contact: Adam Hudson | Linda Wharton Boyd A successful entrepreneur and Spanish media executive Washington, DC – Today, DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority (DCHBX) Executive Director Mila Kofman announced that Antonio Guernica joins the DC Health Benefit Exchange Authority as the Director of Business Development. As a member of the DCHBX Leadership Team, he will be responsible for working closely with the diverse Hispanic and Latinx communities in the District of Columbia and the small business and non-profit communities. Guernica is a successful entrepreneur and business leader having developed and executed effective sales, outreach, and customer retention plans and having launched successful businesses. Guernica received Entrepreneur of the Year Award from the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and was named by Hispanic Business magazine one of its “Top 100 Influentials” nationally. Guernica previously served as General Sales Manager for Entercom (now Audacy) in Washington, DC, as well as Station Group Manager for Media Vista Communications, overseeing television stations in three states. As Vice President and General Manager of the largest Spanish radio company in DC, Guernica directed the programming and managerial start-up of four DC-area Spanish format stations. Guernica also directed operations and development of two Spanish television stations in Orlando as well as a Spanish television station in Chicago—turning those stations into market leaders. Guernica has consulted for a number of major Hispanic advertising agencies and wrote the landmark book Reaching the Hispanic Market Effectively – The Media, The Market, The Methods. Guernica will lead DCHBX’s efforts to expand and retain small business coverage through DC Health Link, increase coverage rates among communities of color and focus on retention of individual marketplace customers.
