FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - September 2019 PRESS CONTACT Idaliz Ortiz Morales iortizmorales@gwhcc.org The Construction industry is Booming in the Greater Washington DC region with cranes in the sky, footers in the ground and truckloads of materials navigating the bustling and busy streets. However, despite the tremendous development, many construction-related companies have expressed concern about the challenge of finding qualified bi-lingual professionals to fill the myriad of jobs available. As such, the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Metro DC Hispanic Contractors Association, the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Turner Construction, Gilbane Construction, Davis Construction, Sprint, First Citizen Bank, Kohler by Grof, and Tradesmen International, have come together to host the First Construction Expo and Career Fair targeting all those who are interested in learning about, and applying for, these open positions. On the morning of October 19th, Job Fair attendees will have the chance to meet with approximately 20 industry-related recruiters to explore career opportunities. Simultaneously, these companies will be able to speak to some of the best and brightest talent from our area. Attendees will find job opportunities in the fields of engineering, architecture, construction management, office administration, sales and more. From experienced professionals looking to make a career move, to skilled tradesmen, to students, to laborers, we will be welcoming a diverse group of people looking to find a satisfying and lucrative career in the construction industry! The event will also provide plenary sessions dedicated to topics such as: Career Paths in Construction, Professional Construction Jobs 101, Women in Construction, Success Stories, How I Made my First Million...and workshops in bonding and understanding commercial contracts.
