January 3 - 9, 2022 Featuring the National Youth Enrollment Day Friday, January 7, 2022 As efforts to reach the remaining uninsured residents in the District of Columbia continues during the 9th Open Enrollment Period (Nov 1, 2021 – Jan 31, 2022), DC Health Link is accelerating its outreach campaign to the Young Adult community. Adults ages 19 to 34 had the highest uninsured rates of any age group in the United States, according to a 2020 article at Census.gov. People in this age group had an average uninsured rate of 15.6% compared to 5.7% for those under 19 years of age, 11.3% for adults ages 35 to 64, and 0.8% for individuals 65 years of age and older. With the American Rescue Plan, health insurance coverage is more affordable with different health plans that best meets every need and budget. Helping communities take advantage of lower premiums on quality health care coverage is a priority for this Open Enrollment Period and DC Health Link is partnering with key organizations representing the Hispanic community to engage their network to promote enrollment in quality, affordable health insurance coverage " In partnership with the both the National and Local Young Invincibles organizations, DC Health Link, is hosting an action-packed week of intensive enrollment and outreach activities during the annual Enrollment Week of Action. The National Office, based in Washington D.C., continues Young Invincibles’ cutting-edge work through policy research and analysis, sharing the stories of young adults, designing campaigns to educate, inform, and mobilize our generation, and advocating to change the status quo. As part of the Week of Action, DC Health Link will launch an outreach /educational campaign, which includes social media, print, broadcast and digital advertising, SMS (txt) messaging in both Spanish and English, distribute open enrollment information at local events, host virtual events and encourage online and virtual enrollment opportunities. DC Health Link is asking leaders and organizations targeted to the interests of young adults to join its intensified outreach and enrollment efforts to share information and targeted messages with the young invincible population, participate in earned media opportunities, and amplify the OEP through social media channels to raise awareness about the coverage options available through DCHealthLink.com. Partners are being asked to use social media to encourage enrollment in quality, affordable health plans at DC Health Link.com during the FY22 Open Enrollment Period where lower monthly premiums are available throughout the year thanks to the American Rescue Plan. One of the featured and most popular events of the intensified week of enrollment activities is the National Youth Enrollment Day on Friday, January 7, 2022 which will include an impact day with posts across social media platforms including #NewYearNewHealthCare.
